Message from Alorah
Samantha and Eve are two very special souls, who came into my life about 10 years ago. Their mother Patricia was working for me in South Africa as my housekeeper.
It was several years before she mentioned the girls, but what I heard about their lives with their grandmother, aunt & farm schooling, decided me to bring the eldest girl to stay with her mother & I sent her to a local school.
The school system, at the time, was adjusting to the new government and the ‘better’ schools were still filled with mostly white or ‘privileged’ students.
I realized that they had learnt almost nothing at the Zulu farm school they had attended so I arranged for the second child to start the following term.
And so began their growth and education!
It was a far cry from the rural Zulu school they had once attended which had 132 students in a class!!

They needed private lessons, additional English classes, and books & sports equipment. Homework and school projects were supervised by my friend Denies Smith, which she did daily for more that 2 years!
The girls flourished and went from strength to strength!
Trophies, certificates and praise became constant features in their lives.
My own career expanded and I began to travel which meant
I saw less of the girls, although our time together was always quality time!
Sadly, after 3 years of travel to the U.K. and Ireland, much soul searching and discussion, I realized I could no longer keep their mother, Patricia employed. A situation had arisen during one of my trips away, which made it impossible for me to have Patricia continue as housekeeper.
I arranged for the girls to stay with an aunt, as I had also come to realize that their mother had no interest in them.
When I last saw the girls in South Africa, I taught them how to do energy work…, using their ‘angels’ and higher self to protect them. They took to this instantly! They are truly two special children!
We have been in contact constantly, by phone and by mail, but in recent times, it has been less often due to costs and circumstances.
A few months ago, after getting no response to my letters, I called and was given some shocking news by Eve. Samantha had been raped and beaten up in two separate incidents. I spoke to Samantha and was stunned to hear that she had received no support, comfort or help from her mother or aunts.
More recently, I learnt that she has run away from home. I managed to get Eve to ‘find’ her, but she refuses to go back to the area where she was raped.
It is so clear that she needs support and change of environment as soon as possible.
I have come to realize that:
- neither of the girls are safe
- their mother has virtually abandoned them
- they have bravely managed to get through the past 5 years alone
- their aunt who they live with, is jealous of their opportunities and education, and is not treating them well.
- money I have sent in the past was spent by the aunt on herself, and not given to the children.
- their educational needs and requirements are not being considered.
The girls are extremely unhappy living this way. My hope is to get both Samantha and Eve into a boarding school. They would be safe there, and could focus on their schooling, whilst being fed and cared for.
This is why I am approaching you all, before it is too late for them….
Good education in S.Africa has become expensive, and unfortunately, I am financially unable to put this plan into action, by myself.
As many of know I had a heart attack in November of 2003. I have had many set backs but I am now struggling to get my health back. It has been extremely tough for the girls during these years.
I feel so deeply committed to them and I am sad and frustrated that I am unable to be there for them , financially or emotionally right now. I would love to see them happy and safe and able to continue their education.
The girls deserve this opportunity. They are deeply grateful and appreciative for anything they have received in the past. They have both done their very best at all times…reminding me constantly that they will never let me down.
If their plight resonates with you, it would be wonderful if you could make a once off donation or a monthly contribution to their welfare. I know that Samantha and Eve will be forever grateful for any assistance, however small, you can afford to give them.
Should this not feel appropriate to you, I hope that you might consider forwarding the information on, to at least one of your friends.
I bless you, and thank you for taking the trouble to read this.
Special blessings,
Alorah
Excerpt from a letter received from Samantha last year:
“ you have blessed us with the best tools of life & you have taught us all that we need to know in order to become successful and happy…you have done so much for us, you are our guardian angel…now we want to show you just how much we have learnt from you…so that you will be proud of us
Breathing you in is sometimes not enough…I need you here…I just need you…I feel you moving away…or are you just so far away…”
* The pictures of Samanthat and Eve are several years old now but are the most recent pictures available of the girls.
