“I want to know the thoughts of God; the rest are details.”
-- Albert Einstein
Everything -- absolutely everything -- that happens in our lives has a spiritual cause. Mental, emotional and physical events are only effects.
When we are struggling with any challenge, whether it be ill health, a lack of money, a lost job, relationships, an accident, whatever -- we need to look for the spiritual learning. We can ask ourselves, “What does my soul want me to learn and understand more fully?”
"The sun shines not on us but in us. The rivers flow not past, but through us, thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing."
-- John Muir
"Sometimes what seems like surrender isn't surrender at all. It's about what's going on in our hearts. About seeing clearly the way life is and accepting it and being true to it, whatever the pain, because the pain of not being true to it is far, far greater."
-- Nicholas Evans
"One must not always think so much about what one should do, but rather what one should be. Our works do not ennoble us; but we must ennoble our works."
-- Meister Eckhart
ALLOW YOUR TRANSITION
The elation we feel when we have learned an important lesson, achieved a goal, or had a big breakthrough can sometimes be met with a period of downtime afterward. During this period of transition, we may feel unsure and not know where to turn next. Many people, during the pause between achievements, begin to wonder what their life is about. These feelings are common and strike everyone from time to time. Human beings are active creatures-we feel best when we are working on a project or vigorously pursuing a goal. But there is nothing inherently wrong with spending a day, a week, or even a month simply existing and not having a plan. Just be. It won't be long before you embark upon your next voyage of growth and discovery.
The quiet lull into we which we fall between ideas, projects, and goals can make life seem empty. After accomplishing one objective, you may want to move immediately on to the next. However, when your next step is unclear, you may feel frustrated, disconnected, or even a mild depression. You may even perceive your lack of forward momentum as an indicator of imminent stagnation. To calm these distressing thoughts, try to accept that if your intent is personal growth, you will continue to grow as an individual whether striving for a specific objective or not. Spending time immersed in life's rigors and pleasures can be a cathartic experience that gives you the time you need to think about what you have recently gone through and leisurely contemplate what you wish to do next. You may also find that in simply being and going through the motions of everyday life, you reconnect with your priorities in a very organic, unforced way.
The mindful transitional pause can take many forms. For some, it can be a period of reflection that helps them understand how their life has unfolded. For others, it can be a period of adjustment, where new values based on recent changes are integrated into daily life. Just because you're not headed swiftly to a final destination doesn't mean you should assume that you have lost your drive. The stage between journeys can become a wonderful period of relaxation that prepares you for the path that will soon be revealed to you.
Wonderment Of Life
The Things We Take For Granted
Most of us begin our days with a continuous list of things we need to do to keep our lives running smoothly, but we rarely take time to note all the things we don't need to do. For example, we don't need to figure out how to breathe. We don't need to find a way to make sure the earth continues to revolve around the sun. We don't need to concentrate to ensure that our heart beats and our cells regenerate. All of these things, and many more, take care of themselves without our having to think or do anything at all. This is the miracle of life on earth.
Beyond the wonder of the Natural World, we have the wonder of human-created conditions such as indoor plumbing, electricity, automobiles, aeroplanes, telephones, and the Internet to name a few. Someone living just a hundred years ago would be overwhelmed by the ease with which we can communicate with people all over the world. Every day, millions of us jump on aeroplanes and fly to distant locations in a matter of hours. If we have access to a computer, we can read obscure information about any subject, free of charge, at any time of the day or night. And yet, it's only when one of these miraculous inventions fails that we notice it at all.
When you wake up tomorrow, take time to notice how many things are running smoothly, how many small miracles compose your day. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, as you put them on, take a moment to appreciate the fact that without them, you would be unable to see. Your life would be entirely different if someone hadn't invented corrective lenses. As you take in your world, you might feel a moment of Gratitude for the basic fact that, once again, the sun has risen to illuminate the abundant Earth, and the earth's gravitational field holds you and all that you hold dear in a tight, life-affirming embrace....

"Most people begin pursuing results in their life with great enthusiasm...until external demands, distractions and frustrations shift their focus and derail their dreams..."
LIFE AND ITS LESSONS...
To remain steadfast and true to oneself is the challenge being presented to you during your time on earth. Earth School has become more and more of a challenge as we move closer to 2012 and to finding our true selves.
Right now we are facing a myriad of experiences challenges and tests.
Our 'pass mark' will be the result of what we DO with all that is presented to us to learn from in our day to day life.
Some will find it easier to bury their heads in the sand and say 'who, me'? Others will re-start their journey in exactly the same place over and over again. You may like to pretend that you are actually moving forward when in fact this may not be the case. Delusion? Lack of truth? Fear?
Most of you in this 21st century will have collected every self help or spiritual book available. Shelves bursting with knowledge and information as yet unread...
But somehow you got to this page, it drew you in...so read, experience, think, ask, ponder, accept and live!
The challenge here is how will YOU commit fully to walking the talk...living in truth...strutting your stuff?
‘Commit and follow through' those words were the first that TRULY stayed with me, long since burnt into my memory. I look around me and see clearly that this is the simple test that most find the hardest to follow.
I guess that many of you reading these words have been to every workshop or seminar, looking for the answers that actually lie deep within...looking for the answer to do the 'walk the talk' thing, to find an easy way to commit to this journey.
Mandela said "there is no easy way to walk to freedom, we have to go through the valley many times."
Yes we do, to enable us to get to where we are headed for. Powerful but totally true!
What is it that blocks you, hinders you, waylays you, discourages you, inhibits you, frightens you, distracts you and even stops you from the road you most wish to travel? This path that takes you to self discovery, self acceptance, self realisation, even re-birth and finally ascension?
The planet is changing! This we know for sure. We can see it, feel it and many are living close to it.
When for a brief moment, you really look at the 'big picture,' do you get a sense of the shifts, the changes and transformation happening?
You just have to look around you, see your own life, your neighbours, the news, the untold news, the planet herself.
Many more of us are beginning to understand the size of this transformational shift as the pace of living has become more and more rapid. Faster than we expected and hard to understand.
We are confused about tomorrow, the future, the world. There is fear, uncertainly, excitement and physical manifestations of these shifts too. Our bodies are being challenged as our souls seem to be going ahead of us on this journey. Headaches, vertigo, ringing ears, itches, heart flutters, changing weight, great fatigue, and lethargy are the order of the day for the more sensitive ones.
You have no time to waste, no time to 'dilly dally.' Spiritually we are at the doorway to a new world and YOU are meant to come along on this ride! Are you coming?
From now on you need to feel OK about seeking support and understanding. Select a mentor, a friend, a soul mate, a therapist, a facilitator a 'way-shower' who resonates with your truth.
No other person will make you change, grow, stay, move, blame, influence, treat you bad or dis-empower you without your permission. As we become more of who we are, we begin to realise that this is not our birthright or out truth.
This is about you and you alone! This is about trust as you go forwards reaching upwards 'testing the water' as you go...It is also about caring, sharing, compassion, joy and love! We are learning to know we are worthy! Learning to love ourselves day by day including our faults and flaws.
Once we make these new choices we begin to live totally and in the now. We learn to slowly forgive at the deepest level, gently bringing about our own personal healing...letting go...becoming free...
When you finally accept yourself, others and your own journey, so you begin to live in truth, with peace, respect, joy and passion!
Know that today you have the power to choose!
Women's Spirituality: A personal view on women's liberation
It is evident to me that development of women must happen at two levels I.e. within the family and in the society as well. Let us first consider how we can bring about development within the family. With the family, her world is her relationships. She creates her hell or she creates her heaven through her relationships, because “life is relationships”. Most often we see women reacting from a very narrow perspective of life arising basically from insecurity. Owing to the erratic change suffered by women as a species in the past, we have a physical and emotional insecurity ingrained in our psyche.
Fear of losing something that we possess can drive a woman so mad and crazy that she can create havoc around her. We must understand and try to become conscious about her insecurities because the consequences of these can be very far reaching in ones personal and family life. Women can become more secure only when she starts realizing a sense of freedom within her. External freedom with regards to career or socializing cannot transform her much unless she starts experiencing freedom within herself.
Hence, women, as a community must know that women's liberation cannot happen through a declaration or a treaty, neither is it a degree to be passed nor a gift or a reward to be given. But just the sheer understanding and knowledge where she declares to herself that she is free. This freedom is a “happening” that she is free.
The journey begins with the first step, which is to see how we are throwing tantrums causing pain to others in our family by our unfounded fears and insecurities. Basically all fears are unfounded as it is only in our imaginations. When you mistake a rope for a snake and you fear. It is natural that you even see its eyes, moments, its slithering away, finally to know that it was only a rope and not a snake. So fear can create lot of imaginations and only in these imaginations can fear sustain. Hence begin your journey form WHERE YOU ARE, and not from where you want to be.
An Experience - Born to be Free !
The experience of being a “free women” came to me when I attended the spiritual sessions conducted by the Golden Age Foundation. Freedom, I was under the impression, was to dress up lavishly and do precisely what I wanted and expecting exactly what I felt was right to happen in “MY WAY”, not being answerable to anybody for my thoughts, my words or action. That I called Freedom.
Then I had an absolute change of heart and mind. It was then that I realized that this mind was not mine and the thoughts were a group of ideas I had formed over a period of time, my very own perceptions! I had several insights about ego, which always refused to be dominated and played the indifferent game all the time. Once I became aware of these conflicts and conditions of my mind, grace and love flooded miraculously in, and gave me a kind of freedom that I had not thought possible. This freedom helped me to become kind, compassionate, loving, yet strong and resourceful.
This freedom has made me a better mother, wife and child, and all my relationship have been set right as if by magic….. Because I could, for once, listen to people and accept my own shortcomings and also appreciate others the way I started appreciating myself.
With my mind free of expectations and conflicts and experiencing a sweet divine silence, it has made me totally creative, and awakened in me a confidence that is not based on anything but itself and the divine source. The years of suppression are over for me! I have stopped proving my point anymore (because I don't feel inferior or suppressed any longer). The freedom has flowered from “Within”. Even in a conversation, I speak and let all energies flow, to come to a right and divine end point merely as an observer of my own strong participation. Confidence in the “Self” had given way to the emergence of a new subtler yet forceful “strength”. The strength of being a loved one, the strength of being spiritually awakened, the strength of being a women, the strength of being “what is”…….The strength of BEING.
